Terms of service
Clear rules for precise data work.
These Terms govern U.S. buyers, contributors, and agents that access or use ineeddata. By using the service, you agree to them.
ineeddata helps parties define, validate, review, and pay for data work. Stripe processes reward payments and contributor transfers. Funds are not held in a legal escrow or trust account, and ineeddata is not an escrow agent.
1. Eligibility and U.S. launch scope
You must be at least 18, be located in the United States, use a U.S. payment or payout account where required, and be legally able to enter a binding agreement. If you act for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.
You may not use the service if applicable law prohibits it, if you are subject to U.S. sanctions that prevent the transaction, or if we have previously suspended you for policy violations.
2. What ineeddata provides
ineeddata is a marketplace and workflow service. It lets buyers publish structured bounty contracts, lets contributors submit frozen delivery bundles with provenance and license declarations, produces automated validation results and random review samples, and supports acceptance and reward release.
We are not the buyer’s or contributor’s employer, agent, partner, fiduciary, attorney, data broker, or professional adviser. We do not guarantee that a bounty will receive submissions, that a submission is accurate or lawful, or that any transaction will meet a participant’s business goals.
3. Accounts, sign-in, and agents
- Provide accurate account and transaction information and keep it current.
- Protect email access, one-time codes, API keys, management links, submission tokens, and connected accounts.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account or credentials, including activity performed by an AI agent you authorize.
- Do not share credentials publicly, bypass access controls, probe private files, or use another person’s account without permission.
- Tell us promptly through Support if a credential or account may be compromised.
4. Buyer responsibilities
When posting or reviewing a bounty, a buyer must:
- Describe the unit of observation, required fields or files, validation rules, source and rights requirements, review method, deadline, and reward accurately.
- Request only lawful data for a lawful purpose and avoid prohibited or unnecessarily sensitive personal information.
- Pay the full displayed reward through Stripe when choosing to accept a submission.
- Review the selected sample and supporting declarations in good faith and use the available resample process where appropriate.
- Accept or reject work based on the published contract, not undisclosed preferences.
- Use submitted material only within the review rights and license that apply to it.
5. Contributor responsibilities
When preparing or submitting work, a contributor must:
- Follow the exact bounty contract and submit only material they may lawfully collect, transform, license, and deliver.
- Provide truthful provenance, source, collection-method, license, commercial-use, and personal-data declarations.
- Disclose permitted transformations and material limitations instead of hiding gaps or manufacturing records.
- Avoid malware, executable payloads, credential material, stolen data, and any material prohibited by the Safety Policy.
- Complete Stripe onboarding and provide accurate tax and payout information before a reward can be transferred.
The account holder remains responsible when software or an AI agent collects, generates, formats, or submits work on their behalf.
6. Validation and buyer review
Automated checks test whether a package matches parts of the published contract, such as structure, file roles, formats, counts, and field rules. Random sampling limits unnecessary pre-acceptance access to the full bundle.
A passing result is not a certification of truth, completeness, originality, privacy compliance, ownership, license validity, or fitness for a particular purpose. Buyers must review the evidence and make the acceptance decision. Contributors remain responsible for their declarations.
7. Rewards, Stripe, and the 15% fee
- Posting is free. There are no subscription plans or listing fees.
- No card is required and no reward is charged when the bounty is published.
- After reviewing a protected sample, the buyer starts acceptance by paying the full advertised reward through Stripe Checkout.
- A submission is not accepted, no complete bundle unlocks, and no transaction license begins unless Stripe confirms that payment.
- After payment-confirmed acceptance, ineeddata initiates a transfer of 85% of the reward to the contributor’s eligible Stripe connected account and retains 15% as the success fee.
- Stripe settlement, verification, reserve, payout, refund, and dispute rules may delay or restrict movement of funds.
- Contributors are responsible for taxes, reporting, withholding information, and any payout-account fees that apply to them.
The buyer charge and contributor transfer are separate payment operations. The platform account may be responsible to Stripe for refunds, chargebacks, and negative balances. See our Refunds & Disputes Policy for the rules that apply before and after acceptance.
8. Acceptance and delivery
Clicking “Accept & pay” opens Stripe Checkout but does not by itself select a winner. Only a successfully confirmed payment selects that submission, rejects competing submissions, unlocks the complete winning bundle for the buyer, and starts reward release. Payment-confirmed acceptance is normally final, subject to the Refunds & Disputes Policy, fraud, a material rights violation, or applicable law.
If the winning contributor has not completed payout onboarding, the transfer may remain pending. That delay does not authorize the buyer to use rejected submissions or give the contributor rights to change the already frozen winning bundle.
9. Ownership and licenses
Ownership and reuse rights are governed by the bounty contract, the contributor’s frozen license declaration, and our Contributor Rights Policy. The platform does not acquire ownership of submitted datasets merely because they are uploaded.
You grant ineeddata the limited rights needed to host, secure, validate, sample, display, transmit, and retain material to operate the service, comply with law, and resolve disputes.
10. Prohibited conduct
You may not use ineeddata to:
- Request, collect, buy, sell, or submit unlawful, stolen, leaked, deceptive, infringing, or prohibited data.
- Evade rate limits, moderation, sanctions screening, payment controls, or validation safeguards.
- Manipulate samples, reviews, submissions, rewards, referrals, or payment disputes.
- Scrape private service areas, introduce malicious code, interfere with the service, or access data without authorization.
- Harass participants, impersonate others, or misrepresent source, ownership, identity, or transaction facts.
11. Moderation, suspension, and termination
We may investigate, restrict, remove, or preserve content; pause a bounty, review, payout, refund, or account; revoke credentials; or suspend access when reasonably needed to protect participants, investigate a report, comply with law or payment-network requirements, or enforce these Terms.
You may stop using the service at any time, but obligations tied to a paid reward, accepted submission, payment, dispute, audit record, license, or legal claim survive as needed to complete or resolve them.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” INEEDDATA DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION, ERROR-FREE VALIDATION, OR THE ACCURACY, LEGALITY, OR USEFULNESS OF MARKETPLACE CONTENT.
Some states do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so part of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INEEDDATA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY. INEEDDATA’S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE PLATFORM FEES INEEDDATA RETAINED FROM YOUR TRANSACTIONS DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) $100.
These limits do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
14. Your responsibility for claims
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify ineeddata and its personnel against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your bounty, submission, dataset, source activity, rights violation, unlawful conduct, or material breach of these Terms. This does not require a consumer to indemnify ineeddata for ineeddata’s own unlawful conduct.
15. Complaints and legal disputes
Contact Support first and provide the bounty, submission, or payment identifiers involved. The parties agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the issue informally before filing a lawsuit, except where immediate relief or a shorter legal deadline is necessary.
Applicable U.S. federal and state law governs according to ordinary conflict-of-law rules and any mandatory consumer protections. Nothing in these Terms waives a right that cannot lawfully be waived. We do not require private arbitration in this version of the Terms.
16. General terms and changes
If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a business reorganization or sale. These Terms and the policies linked here are the agreement about the service unless a written agreement says otherwise.
We may update these Terms as the service or law changes. We will post the new effective date and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
Include your account email and any relevant bounty or submission ID.
